Virtual Railfan embarks on the 2021 Whistle Stop Tour from New York City to Pittsburgh and back, on October 8-10, 2021. Join the members of Virtual Railfan, including founder and CEO Mike Cyr, and members of the Virtual Railfan Community as we travel aboard private railcars, the Catalpa Falls and Chester County.

Our Journey

Traveling aboard our two private railcars for the weekend, guests will experience speeding on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor at high speed, crossing the historical Rockville Bridge, and passing the Altoona Virtual Railfan camera while traveling around the world-famous Horseshoe Curve.

After arriving in Pittsburgh on the evening of the first day, guests will have the second day free to explore the city, railfan its many famous sites, and grow closer with other Virtual Railfan community members. Guests will return to New York City alongside Virtual Railfan’s staff aboard the historic railcars on the third day.

Transportation

Virtual Railfan’s three-day Whistle Stop Tour 2021 will be provided by Executive Rail, a premier private rail travel company. Using fully restored cars Chester County and Catalpa Falls, an original 1949 Broadway Limited mid-train lounge. Executive Rail staff will provide meals on the car based on the original Broadway Limited menu and complimentary drinks services.
