Amtrak Adopts Phase VII Livery

Amtrak is applying the new “Phase VII” livery to passenger cars as they are serviced.

This new scheme was first seen on Viewliner cars. On March 3rd, the first Amfleet cars to wear the
new livery emerged from the Bear, Delaware, shops. As part of the new livery, Amtrak is adding a color coding at the entryways to denote the class of service. Located at the doorways, the colors are red for first class, blue for business class, and green for coach
class.

Amtrak introduced its Phase VII livery on the Siemens ALC-42 Chargers. IT has since also been added
to some P-42 Genesis locomotives. According to Amtrak, the new livery is easily adaptable to the various
types of equipment it will apply.
