Lake Shore Cams 2.0

Welcome back to the Lake Shore Railway museum in North East, PA.  We originally installed 2 cams and 1 mic (on the EB cam) 2 years ago.  This location was the only location on the entire network to use cams other than the AXIS brand.  When we were planning this location we wanted to make sure we could combat the snow that this area gets on a regular basis in the winter.  We decided to try a new brand of cams.  We quickly discovered (in the first 200 seconds) that these cams were not what they were advertised as.  They became completely inundated, turned white, and stayed that way for the better part of 2 days.  On top of this these cams constantly presented a challenge in keeping them up and streaming, it was an almost daily occurrence having to reboot and restart the streams.

On Thursday November 16, 2017 Mike Tippins traveled to North East to perform a complete and total replacement of all of the equipment including the addition of 2 new mics.  With this installation complete this now make our network 100% AXIS products.  A huge thanks to Mike Tippins for freezing to death while he got these cams installed, we appreciate your hard work.  The cams look great and hopefully should deliver some great images in the years to come.

We also want to thank Ray Grabowski, JR. and his team for all of their assistance as well, they are some truly great folks up there at the museum and if you are in the area it would be a crime not to stop by and say hello!
