Rebuilding the Clinchfield

On September 24, 2024, Hurricane Helene tore through the U.S. Southeast, leaving destruction in its wake. Less than a week later, Hurricane Milton followed, compounding the devastation. The two storms resulted in multiple deaths and caused billions of dollars in damage. As soon as Helene passed, CSX headquarters began reaching out to employees in affected areas to check on their well-being and offer assistance.  CSX provided employees with essential supplies, including generators, extension cords, fuel, water, ice, food, and temporary lodging. In total, roughly 300 employees received aid, which included approximately 8,800 meals, baby food, pet food, several hundred generators, and over 10,000 gallons of fuel to keep them running.
